Don Flynn went out and hung out with an impressive number of Four Letter Beauties. One in particular – though very, very sexy – unquestionably had the lowest IQ. Which one on the list below do you think it was?*
Alma
Gita
Hedy
Jane
Jean
Joan
Lana
Lili
Liza
Lucy
Lupe
Mary
Mona
Nora
Rita

During the mid-40s, they were seen riding on the Sunset Strip in Errol’s convertible. There were visits to an art gallery near the corner of Sunset & Alta Loma. ____ would dress VERY provocatively, raising spirits and commotion. One of Errol’s closest friends was usually involved and developed quite an unrequited crush on ____.
Decades later, Van Halen enjoyed that part of town, too.
*Most of Errol’s favorites were extremely bright, making it much more difficult if not impossible to identify the one with the highest IQ.
— Tim
Very interesting question but how would one know who had what IQ? You can rule out Hedy since she was an inventor. Or should I say Hedly?
Yes, definitely not Hedy, Hedwig, or Hedley, twinarchers. Miss Lamarr was extraordinarily bright., whereas the answer to this quiz was a real dummy, infinitely less intelligent than the famous four-letter females listed above.
Speaking of Hedwig however, ____ really lost her head one night at a party attended by many Hollywood celebrities after someone messed with her wig, which also came off, leading to quite a fight.
This guy got involved. He would rue the day he did:

Claiming he was defending the honor of Errol, this feisty fellow from the fine Borough of Brooklyn was heavily involved, too:

The latter of the two said he was simply defending Errol’s honor. Another party-goer or two insulted ____ .
Here he his in all his Hollywood glory, looking deliberately Flynnister:

One of Samuel Colt’s descendants was involved too.

This familiar famous face got involved a bit too much, too, even managing to hit the alleged evil-doer six or more times:

Tim; I know the first man in question is movie actor Jack LaRue who made a career out of playing gangsters. The other is clearly Lawrence Tierney, a very under-rated star in his day. The lady? You got me! Ralph Schiller
Superb, Ralph. You are so incredibly knowledgeable. I could have never pegged both ir probably either of those oft-forgotten Hollywood heavies. The identity of ____ is very unusual, to say the least, quite bizarre actually, part of a long forgotten chapter in the unique parade of extraordinary events in Errol’s life. It did make the papers during the mid-40’s, but is very rarely remembered now. P.S. Decker was very deeply involved too. In fact, along with Errol, he and Ben Hecht helped design ____’s very sexy look. _____ was often at Decker and Flynn’s art gallery.
Would the girl be Mona?
Also the picture you post as Van Halen is not yet, The Ramones…
If you haven’t already, inquire the read; Hollywood’s Hellfire Club: The Misadventures of John Barrymore, W.C. Fields, Errol Flynn and the Bundy Drive Boys -you can read a long preview of it if you Google it – Fun read…
BRAVO, Sergio!!! Yes, it was Mona the Mannequin! (For the record, I think I avoided ever saying Mona was a girl, )
And thank you for The Ramones correction! I had no idea, but did think the guy in front looked like a young Eddie Van Halen. My humble apologies to all fans of The Ramones and Van Halen!! As they didn’t say in Days of Flynn: My bad!!#

And then there was there was the brawl:

This blog is so educational…now I need to get a hold of a copy of that book! Maybe Santa will bring it to me.

Mona was a stiff and stood everybody up. Thanks for bringing this gallery brawl to the attention of those, who have yet to read “The Bundy Drive Boys” & “The original Rat Pack” books, Gentlemannequin Tim. Both are fine Flynn related page turners. Speaking of hay makers, read all about the man who made Jack La Rue moan “O Mona!”: www.eddiemuller.com…
I sure hope Santa can find the time to type up a copy for you, Paula!

Lol! This particular Santa will be otherwise occupied, I think. However, you never know.
Well, Paula, I have a bit of connection now to Bad Santa, having helped research and appeared in a film he narrated. He helped us win the Mid-America Emmy for “Best Cultural Film of 2016”, among other awards. So I can put in a word for you! He did a magnificent job of narration, a taste of which you can get in the preview below.
Perhaps in return you can send him a vial of blood. If he were round in Hollywood during the Late Thirties, I suspect he may have been a regular at Bundy Drive, and later up at Muholland Farm, too!
Interesting documentary. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Paula. It is a fun and fascinating look at Golden Age Baseball, when Baseball dominated as the National Pasttime. … Even Errol got into the swing of things on occasion!

Thank you for that sensational article on Larry Tierney, noirheinz. That is one incredible account!!! Here’s a photo, a candid I believe, of L.T. the year I started college. Coincidentally, he ran for the same small but rather successful college track team I did, at the northern end of Broadway in Riverdale, four decades earlier. He was said to be a great all-round athlete, though for some inexplicable reason he never finished his studies there. (Same for Tony Franciosa, also a non-graduate “Jasper”.)

P.S. As Rory revealed in “The Baron of Mulholland”, Larry Tierney’s brother, actor Scott Brady was one of Nora’s admirers after Errol
