How do you keep finding this stuff? I was on a catamaran in 93 and asked about the Dr. No beach. Turned out we were just off it and they insisted on taking me there. Problem was, I was a guest on the boat and my hosts changed the direction before we landed so I only saw it from the water. I didn’t know it was Errol’s. Luke’s idea sounds great but he’s going to need investors. I hope he has someone smart looking after his interests so he doesn’t end up being cut out in the end. It happens a lot. Jamaica is beautiful but slightly dangerous and I hate the mosquitoes. But beautiful. I’m happy to have been there, especially knowing what it meant to Errol. (and Patrice)

I see her every night in my dreams! John Derek had great taste in women. Ursula is still the ultimate Bond girl. I actually did see her once, in Pacific Palisades. Classic beauty.

How lovely,I hope it happens for him. :)

I agree Tim,wouldn’t Errol have been just perfect (and have loved it) as Bond,it was a role made for him. :)

There is a book out titled: “Portland – The other Jamaica”, I have it – great book!

PORTLAND: THE OTHER JAMAICA offers a glimpse into the history of this most beautiful parish, stretching from Buff Bay to Hector’s River and up the many river valleys to the Blue Mountains. Portland has been home to some remarkable people, including more than a few dreamers, schemers and crusaders. Shaped by the heavy hand of Mother Nature Portland is blessed with outstanding beauty and challenged by remarkable geography, which provided a perfect homeland for the Windward Maroons as they fled the terror of colonial oppression under the spiritual leadership Nanny. The 1739 Maroon Treaty was followed by the invasion of British planters with their toxic mix of slavery, violence and sugar. The end of slavery opened up abandoned plantations and mountain villages to modest opportunities for liberated slaves. Within a generation their sons and daughters were enterprising banana farmers responding to the call from Captain Baker to grow banana for the world. Portland soon became the “Banana Capital of the World”. This was followed by the arrival of the railway which spurred even more banana production and helped launch the tourist industry and the building of the Titchfield Hotel.

Many of the world’s major events have shaped Portland’s history, including Port Antonio’s strategic location during the Spanish American War and the loss of so many young men during the Great War. The Parish has also been blessed with great leaders including Captain Quao, Ken Jones, Sir Harold Allan and many others. In recent years Portland has also attracted the attention of Hollywood stars, starting with ERROL FLYNN and followed by Queens, Princes, Princesses, Barons, Captains of Industry and more movie stars. And today the dreamers and schemers are still coming to Portland.

Yes, I do have this picture too! It is the Mural I think Errol commissioned for the Titchfield Hotel when he owned it.
In addition, this Mural has disappeared and people are looking for it but not found to this day.
And another YES, he sure put Port Antonio on the map and as well the river rafting!

Zacal and Tim;
Apparently the mural was stolen as it must have been somehow removable at least that what I have read a long time ago. I did not keep the article.
If it is painted over people wouldn’t look for it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the mural was still there, perhaps just painted over. New owners rarely care about history, it seems. Remember when Pia Zadora bought the legendary house Pickfair and promptly tore it down?

I really think I see Errol in this mural! It’s clearer than the last one I saw posted. A real mystery that we should pursue to find it!

Glad to hear this! My hopes are with him and I wish I had the $$$ to back him! He has a real love for the country and it’s people.
