Tim, is the person Ed Flynn, who became Democratic National Committee chairman? Using your clues, I thought the significant magazine might be LIFE Magazine. Then I searched for LIFE Magazine for February 1, 1943 and found online that issue and its table of contents. One of the articles is about the cases of Ed Flynn and Errol Flynn. I then Googled Ed Flynn and found that he was close to FDR, who unsuccessfully tried to appoint him ambassador to Australia in 1943 (the Senate didn’t confirm).

I’m not sure about the significance of February 2, 1945, but that is toward the end of the Malta Conference and just before the start of the Yalta Conference.

To my mind, there’s only one source of “In Like Flynn.” :-) But that’s fascinating that there are other claims to being the source of the phrase.

Another great quiz, Tim, thank you!

Great job, Barb, congratulations!

I also thought that our man Flynn was the one and only „inspiration“ for „In like Flynn“ so it‘s interesting to read the other theories. Thanks for sharing, Tim, and for yet another awesome quiz!
