Who really was Irina-Pacifica (“Princess Irene”) Ghika??
Was she part of the royal family of Ghika? Driven out of Rumania by the Russians after WWII? A Parisian fashion model/mannequin? And whatever happened to her? Is she still living? If so, where? After their time together, did she ever publicly speak of her time with Errol? Was/is she related to the Blessed Vladimir Ghika, recently beatified by Pope Francis? (He died in a Soviet prison in 1954 as a result of “bestial” torture for the “high treason” of being Catholic.)
(This may be a mystery and mission for EuroHeinz, the Errol Enigma Hunter.)

Some of Errol’s Old Mexican haunts, During the Day of the Dead, Dia de Muertos. He would have loved it! Tens of thousands of wonderfully costumed children during the day; even more adults during the evening, including thousands of beautiful and beautifully costumed senoritas.
Scenes of Caesar’s (where the salad was invented, and is still the best) Chiki Jai’s (an Ava Gardner and bullfighters’ favorite), Jai Lai, Revolution Boulevard, Zona Norte. Barrymore haunts, Aloha Club and The Long Bar, are recently closed, but still standing, as are many of the legendary Hollywood haunts. Tragically, most of Caliente is gone.
Starting with the legendary Hotel Caesar:

The squadrons participated in “Operation Jubilee,” the Dieppe Raid of 15 August 1942. Barry Mahon became the fourth Eagle Squadron ace, but was subsequently shot down. At Stalag Luft III, Mahon became “The Cooler King” and only failed to take part in “The Great Escape” because he had escaped earlier and been recaptured in Czechosolvakia, after walking 400 miles. Mahon served as Technical Advisor on the movie “The Great Escape,” and was the inspiration for the character played by Steve McQueen.

Yes, I like this film and it should be restored on Blu Ray because it is an historic document of airplanes. Never seen a better film with mint condition planes like this. First time I saw it was several years ago and was amazed. The book “The Films Of Errol Flynn” is too hard on his films and should be re-released again I think with more detailed reviews, more photos and a bit less harsh review of this film.
I wanted to add this photo to the other post about Dive Bomber but this irritating site wanted my email and wanted to make sure I am not a robot. Yet I can post it here with no problem? Did what it said but no go so here I am.

Dear fellow Flynn fans,
the monumental “El Cid” was part of a package of proposed historheroes, when Errol extended his contract at Warners.
If you have 3 hours of spare time you can watch it here now: youtu.be/LtuvHew1zi4…
Ben heir of the role was Charlton Heston, who wears his armor well, but is not nearly as handsome as Flynn, and at that without grin.
Sophia Loren, the Monica Bellucci of her time, stars as loving leading lady and would have gotten her revenge on our Hollywood hero, who had turned her down 10 years earlier for a long running contract at his Flynn Enterprises brokered by Jack Cardiff, seeing absolutly no star or sex appeal in the unknown young actress!
The instant success of this widescreen extravaganza leaves the bittersweat taste of a juiced orange in the mouth of every Flynnthusiast, since it came shortly after Errol’s untimely death.
Moreover everybody who has ever been in on Flynn knows that he practically invented the device that keeps El Cid in the saddle for his last rites ride.
Enjoy,
