Dear fellow Flynn fans,

today marks the 101st birthday of eternal movie beauty Hedy Lamarr. Google pays tribute to her with a special designed logo at its starting site. Her entanglements with Errol can be read here:

I was thrilled to see the doodle pay tribute to her scientific achievements. I’ve been saying for years her life would make a great movie. I agree with what was stated in the previous post about she and Flynn both being under-rated talents due to their looks.

Indeed! I saw this today, Susan Sarandon is exec-producing a documentary on Hedy but I’m still hoping for a biopic bit.ly/1RLZcbs…

Fascinating, Paula. I wonder how they’ll deal with Hedy’s creepy hubby allegedly pimping her into a sexual relationship with Herr Hitler. I think this may well have been what Errol was alluding to when he mentions her in MWWW, and why Hedy reacted the way she did. … I love that Hedy was such a proactive and sensationally successful war bond celebrity. I also suspect and love that Hedy may have overheard, been inspired by, and/or adapted (or even “borrowed”) her heralded invention from her ex-hubby’s horrendous Nazi War Machine inner circle engineers. … She really got back at Hitler, which had to make him (even more) crazy. Thank you, Hedy!

I wouldn’t be surprised at anything the first husband did…he seems to have been horrible. She definitely picked up some stuff from him but would have had to take it further in her own work with Antheil. And yep, she sold a lot of war bonds. As you say, just proves you don’t have to have a gun to fight.
