I haven’t read it, Inga, but IF any of its apparent claims of extortion, crooked police, etc., up in Vancouver are true, that could be one hell of a story.

Ha! I doubt this tale is based on anything but the author’s imagination but it’s another novel to add to the list – I still have a copy of Bullet for a Star which was the first Flynn novel I ever read …

Sounds like Bullet for a Star must have pretty good, David & Ralph. I’m surprised there’s not more known about Flynn’s Last Stand. Appears the writer was using something of a James Ellroy approach. I only very rarely read fiction, but I should probably take a look at all of these.

Two years downstream and no readers of Last Stand, yet? Must not be a great Errol Flynn book!

I have not read it yet and frankly it does appear to be overlong at more than 450 pages. I also read ‘Bullet For A Star’ about a 1930’s Hollywood private eye Toby Peters written by Stuart Kaminsky. That was less than 175 pages and very good. I even read the sequel ‘Never Cross A Vampire’ which had Toby Peters helping Bela Lugosi!
