Errol Flynn from Late November of 1951 to Mid January of 1952!

11 Oct

A little bit of everything during this time period: Mara Maru finishes filming on December 18th followed by a portrait shoot about December 19-21. After celebrating Christmas in Mulholland with Patrice and the kids, he is working on the short subject film, Cruise of the Zaca. Then starting in Janury, 1952: radio broadcasting…starts filming his next feature Against All Flags…and Flynn’s first television appearance. This does not include all of the partying, traveling, and headlining in between.

Enjoy …

Thanks to Topper showing us that Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were fans of Errol Flynn, and no doubt vice-versa. Flynn had a ball doing the “Colgate Comedy Hour” with the boys, Rhonda Fleming, and his pal Bruce Cabot. Actually Errol Flynn played straight man to Bud and Lou when they did the famous vaudeville routine “Niagra Falls! Slowly I turn, step by step, inch by inch….” The boys also did a funny parody of the Flynn swashbuckler movies, “Abbott And Costello Meet Captain Kidd” (1953) starring the great Charles Laughton in the title role. Jack Warner made sure Warner Brothers released the film, shot in color, to big box office.
