I read this book -very interesting. I am trying to verify some of the episodes in the book- I did find this paragraph in an old Modern Screen:

“Errol Flynn is another who is constantly being paired with Italian beauties in the gossip columns. Only a few weeks ago here was a terrific slugfest in his apartment – supposedly caused by a woman.” This would match up with the comments in this book. Apparently the fight was with Clyde Allison, an interior decorator -but I cannot find anything on him. Internet searches mention only an author by that name- and that was not his real name – It made the New York Daily News-Errol denied “beating” Clyde up. I wonder who the “plain looking” lady was that they “fought” over? The Countess’s description of King Farouk was better than Errol’s- but then I guess Errol had to be careful as the King was still alive when described in MWWW! The Countess sure got around!

Ok so from articles in newspapers it seems that the event was either fake or didnt go nowhere because it leaked everywhere.
The man doesn’t come up… the lady a British actress was described as blonde then brunette by Clyde… same man that didn’t know her name…Geraldine Carter… (she also doesn’t exist) Fight was in Rome August 1953. Apparently Otto Reichow was also there… lol it just smell fishy. No mention of no countess.

Selene – It could all be extensively embellished, or even possibly entirely made up; I don’t know. I have not read the book, nor the magazine or news articles. Fortunately for our research, however, Maria did read the book and provided multiple quotes, other descriptive info, a magazine cover, and a reference to the Daily News.

Are you able to find and post copies of news articles and/or any other records reporting or alluding to this matter? If so, please do. Thank you.

I am on a cellphone and it is extremely hard to do. If I post them on Facebook are you able to post here? For some reason when I try to post pictures on here the phone kicks me out

Thank you, Selene. You are superb at digging up news articles! Much appreciated.

I believe it was one of these articles that was previously linked with this post, but, like the book link, no longer provides any information. I don’t know why that is. Another mystery.

I have not been able to post your news articles here in the comment section, so I posted them in the original post above (graphically edited for easier reading.)

You welcome. I love researching. As far as I remember in MWWW the appartment story with FAROUK was an american lady that hit Farouk with a purse after he pinched her “derriere”. The articles above to me sounds phoney.

Your digging up of news articles is superb, Selene. The records you post are great contributions to the history of Flynn.

Thank you. I am 90% positive the article and events of Clyde Allison are not real. Yes, I can see a big wallet helping the ladies letting him believe anything he wanted. Now I know why he raided Errol’s fridge.

Regarding King Farouk (Adipose Rex, if you wish) has very wide experience with derrieres that should not be underestimated.

Here’s what he looked like circa the time of Errol’s MWWW description of him. He used to pretend he was a sexual athlete, Allah’s gift to the girls. Many let him think so because his bank account was so big.
