Our Mailbag brings a tough question from Jolene, can anybody help her with an answer?
Hi there at The Errol Flynn Blog! I enjoy y’alls blog very much and I was curious. Is there any picture of Errol Flynn and Cary Grant together? An odd question I know but they are my two favorite people/actors so I was just curious. I haven’t found one yet so I thought to ask the great Errol Flynn Blog!
Thanks so much,
Jolene

I had commented on another thread respect a Baby shower for Sean. This shower was given to Lili by several Hollywood notables. No photo unfortunately!
Of course there was a description of what she was wearing: An Orange Angel Skin Swagger Jacket with Gold Buttons (of course!). I managed to find a sample of a 1950’s Swagger Jacket:
But not “Angel skin” and no I don’t think she skinned an angel to get it!
What I missed was the little comment on the same page noting that Olivia De Havilland had gone east (to Boston) for 6 weeks (this would be 1941) to recuperate from her Appendectomy that January. My female intuition tells me – “I don’t want to be here when the child is born” . I wonder.
Thanks to Tim for the additional information and photos of the guests at the baby shower too! The original post is under “Lost Brothers- In Memory of Sean”.

While searching the Franklin D. Roosevelt online library, I happened to remember that EF had been photographed with FDR. I also recalled that he wrote a letter to Eleanor Roosevelt on behalf of his friend Dr Erben who was trying to emigrate to the US. I searched the FDR website and found an entry in the President’s calendar indicating that EF had dinner at the White House on January 29th, 1939, and attended a play (Outward Bound) afterwards. The list includes the other guests as well. The link to the calendar entry is: www.fdrlibrary.marist.edu…
I’ve attached screen capture for reference.

Errol award for performing arts. Please read.
Isn’t it great to have all these awards named after the man that helped me through such a rough patch in my life . And such a person that has inspired so much love. Genene.

This was taken in the W.W. 2 museum in New Orleans . while there we had lunch in their restaurant. when we got inside the walls were festooned with pictures of all the stars who had supported the war effort in one way or another and in pride of place is Errol Flynn. Nice to know his war efforts are remembered
