In case you couldn’t ’find your copy of the Wisconsin Journal Times, on June 21, 1941,
you may have missed this ad…and I don’t believe this profile will be showing up in Errol’s
portrait gallery.
Enjoy.

Flynn’s screenplay, with co-author William A. Ulman, was accepted by Warner Bros. in early 1936 with all kinds of promises. But Errol’s career took off and he became busier and more popular than anyone ever imagined. The White Rajah kept popping up again and again … over a dozen different years there was an article about Errol and the making of the picture. Thee last time was a letter from Flynn to Jack L. Warner on May 20, 1947, that it would be a good time to make the film.

Here is the magazine coverage of Bing Crosby’s birthday party from Movie Life magazine, August, 1953. The party was actually held in Cannes, France and put on by Flynn, with Gary Cooper and friends. The celebration was a double party for Bing’s 50th birthday and the announcement of Flynn’s wife, Patrice Wymore, about their expected baby.

Here are a pair of seldom scene publicity photos of Flynn at the Warner Studios during the week of November 9, 1936. They are staged photos of Flynn reading … or maybe just looking at … two distinctly different documents. Both pictures are WB numbered with an EFPuBA68 and 69. The first publication, titled DIRALI, is an Armenian magazine, meaning “They said”. The second one is a newspaper from India in the Gujiarati language, one of the 28 states, similar to Hindu.
Perhaps he is looking for openings of Captain Blood, since it began showings in Europe in April and May.
Hmmm…?
