Dear Errol,
66 years ago you left this earth to roam around the 7 seas forever. A lot has happened since then. One thing didn’t change. There are still people in the world who discover your movies and love them. It happened to me over 5 years ago. I am watching your movies ever since. You are still remembered by a lot of people. Some remember the bad things, but most remember the good things. You are still a hero to many. You can be very proud of Deirdre and Rory. They still visit filmfestivals in your honour. They delight fans and strangers alike with their stories about you, and ofcourse their friendliness. I propose a toast to you, the master of the 7 seas and beyond. The man who still is loved by the people who visit this blog and many others. One day we all join you, but untill then, a toast to the best swashbuckler there ever was.
I hope everybody will join me with this toast to the man who gave us Captain Blood, Robin Hood, George Armstrong Custer and many happy hours in the cinema and at home. Viva Errol Flynn

Just found a podcast interview with Sean/Rio on Youtube. It was uploaded just a few hours ago. It is a little over an hour long and Sean talks about Zoey102 and lots of other things. It was really nice to see him. Enjoy

Today I received the book Custer and the Little Big Horn by Jim Donovan. To my surprise I found Errol in it aswell. In one of the last chapters of the book Jim writes about the movies that were made about Custer and the famous battle that cost him (and his men) his life. Errol is praised for his role as George Armstrong Custer. And the scene that is mentioned in the book is one of my favorite parts of this movie. Here you can see what was written and the photos in the book.

For his podcast Saturday Night at the Movies Steve Rubin discusses the final years of Errol Flynn with Robert Florczak, writer of Errol Flynn, The Illustrated Life Chronology. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Today marks the sad 65th anniversary of Errol’s passing. Anniversary might not be the right word, but today I will be thinking of him. Our Robin Hood, Don Juan. A toast to Errol in heaven, who looks down on us with a smile. He is gone, but certainly not forgotten. Bung ho old boy, here’s to the one and only Errol Flynn.
