This WB short film is from the 1940s, and Errol appears at about the 7:05 mark. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen it, so apologies if this has already been posted on the blog by someone else. :-)

Interesting that Errol is said to be going to work on (“The New”) Adventures of Don Juan, which wasn’t released for more than two-and-a-half years after this “peek” was made.

You asked about the car and the faithful companion!
He used to own a Packard maybe it is? If one could get a picture of this very car one could find out!
In the You Tube presentation it says that Errol was working on Don Juan, that would be 1948/49. I doubt it somehow that this clip of Errol is from 1948/49 I think it is much earlier. Going by Errol’s hair cut, for Don Juan he had much longer hair, so this clip must be from earlier years.
Now Errol had two Schnautzers, Arno his most favorite which he received in 1935 and after Arno he had Moody. Moody looked just like Arno. I would love to see a picture of each dog side by side as I still don’t know them apart. I always have to go by the year of the picture to know if it is Arno or Moody.
Arno was most special!
I think in this You Tube clip it is Moody, but I could be wrong. Arno died in 1941 and the clip – just guessing could be 1945 or so?
Robert maybe can shed some light on it.

It was filmed in February of 1946 just after Flynn’s completion of “Escape Me Never.” The dog is Moody. Incidentally, Tina, the video you linked states that Arno was lost at sea in August of 1941. He was lost on July 13th of that year.
Thanks Robert for the info and July 13th date. My guess was not bad of being made around 1945 – great to know it was 1946.

You are Good, Tina!! Moody it was, and I, too, believe it’s a Packard. Indeed, it may have been a custom Packard made for Errol. And maybe the one in which he installed the special speaker that drove Warner crazy???

I’m not sure, Tina, but The Great EF may have had more than one Packard along the way. There’s the one above, which may have been a custom one, then one referenced in the article below, which may have been another. And then there’s that older one (perhaps a ’28 Roadster) that someone apparently but not too unconvincingly photo-shopped Errol’s neck head into/onto. I think the one in the Peek movie may be the one that had the notorious loudspeaker, on which he was said to frequently announce his presence to his female admirers around town, including to the dismay of JW and others, during his arrivals at WB, I believe!

Pat Wymore’s cameo at the end of The Adventures of Don Juan –
I believe you mean Nora Eddington’s cameo, as it is she, and not Patrice Wymore, whom Errol chases at the end of “…Don Juan” saying that there is a little of Don Juan in every man, but because he is Don Juan, there must be more of Don Juan in him.!

Sorry to throw a curb to you but on this picture is Nora Eddington not Patrice.
I would say that this Don Juan “finale” picture of Nora was still taken the year is 1948 as they were divorced on July 7th, 1949.

The photo of Nora was taken on April 19, 1948, the final day of filming on “Adventures of Don Juan.” Flynn and Hale finished up at 9pm that evening at the studio, filming the last scene they would ever do together.

Yeah, I knew that dog of Errol’s had to be Moody, and I had a feeling the time this “Peeks” film was made was when WB was trying to film “Don Juan” the first time, before the film got temporarily shelved due to the set designers strike (I think ?).
