Errol collapsed during filming of a boxing scene in Gentleman Jim as the result of a heart attack
and was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Los Angeles.

Do we know if there are documents about the mild heart attack? It was kept quiet under “fatigue” but even Lincoln said that Errol suffered several heart attacks. If they were all kept hiding is hard to get documentations I guess.
To skip ahead to 1959 in Freedland book it is stated that Errol had heart problems at Bev bday party..i wonder where he got that info.

Selene, I suspect the best evidence most easily accessible now would be contemporaneous news reports, and reliable anecdotal accounts from Errol’s friends and colleagues. I doubt any records are directly available from any medical providers, as so many years have passed. (California, for example, did not require physicians or hospitals to keep files longer than 7 years. However, records may be available in military and FBI files, perhaps even in CIA files. Additionally, British Columbia government offices still may have records concerning Errol’s last heart attack. The best bet of all may be the Warner Brothers Archive. Film history arvhives at USC and UCLA may be helpful, also.

My books are quarantined, leaving me unable to see exactly what Michael Freedland wrote, or what sources he may have cited. Possibly the coroner’s report and/or witness accounts. Everything from Lincoln Hurst and Tom McNulty you can take to the bank.
