Cuban Rebel Girls is the absolute rock bottom of Errol Flynn’s film career. It is horrible that Flynn’s last movie is this 10 cent, cheapjack, amateur film production that is below the lofty standards of Wake Of The Bounty. That Flynn was producer and writer of turkey is a disgrace. Why couldn’t he end his career with The Roots Of Heaven for 20th Century Fox in CinemaScope and Eastmancolor with a great cast?

I think he was trying to promote Beverly Aadland as an actress on a shoestring budget, and he was obviously ill, too. I really think she showed promise in her scenes. Some of our best loved actors have had embarrassing films in the beginning of their careers. I think she might have developed into a good actress had Errol not died too soon. She was already a professional performer as a singer. But the publicity that followed Flynn’s passing was the end of the beginning for poor Beverly Aadland. And she went into private life after all the messy things that happened later …
