Woodsie Morningstar

09 May

Dear fellow Flynn fans,

as of today the Blue Ray- edition of “Marjorie Morningstar” can be purchased. The ultra sharp resolution should enable us to spot Errol`s last love Beverly Aadland very quickly. And for those who are not so into little wood nymphs, there`s the enchanting beauty of Natalie Wood, the ethereal dancing of Gene Kelly and the eternal music of Max Steiner.

Enjoy,

— shangheinz

Awesome, aadlandheinz!

Can this be done for South Pacific, too?

Slowly, but surely it seems, more and more rare imagery of beautiful young Beverly is gracing the netwaves.

Some of this rare imagery of Beverly actually even includes imagery of Beverly!

I couldn’t tell, mysteryheinz. But I did recognize the beautiful Adirondacks:

Heinz; Thanks for the reminder of this film which was a big box office hit based on a popular Herman Wouk best-selling novel. Gene Kelly did excellent dramatic work as a washed-up Broadway composer and dancer. Natalie Wood had blossomed into breath-taking womanhood 27 years before her mysterious and highly-suspicious ‘accident’. Ralph Schiller

Breathtaking, indeed, Ralph. I still have a crush on Natalie.

Wagner’s story is about as credible as the wannabe-Errol mustache he wore back then.

Maybe Bev is among the bevy of beauties at Tamarac, but I can’t find a discernible view of her there, nor over with the boys at Camp Southwind. Maybe in one of the Big Apple dance scenes, or elsewhere in the movie? Or, perhaps she was left on the edit room floor?
