A Man of Many Talents

07 Jan

This man was an actor, athlete, and aviation pioneer, who once built something unique for Errol. He’s been called “the original British rock star.” A famous Hollywood star, used to work for his aviation business. Among many movies, he made very highly regarded ones with Bette Davis, Victor McLaglen, Leslie Howard, and Laurence Olivier. I could drone on but let’s just say he was A Man of Many Talents.

Who is he, what was it he built for Errol, and who was his famous future-star employee???

Just came across this post of yours. The “worker” is Marilyn Monroe.

I remembered him at about that age as the architect in Mr Blandings builds his dream house with Loy and Grant. LOL

Reginald should have been picked for the part of Heinrich Dorfmann, the miniature controlled model airplane designer in; “The Flight of the Phoenix” (1965)….

In staying with this post, here’s a little trivia I just discovered on Wikipedia for myself and anyone else who may have not known it either:
Marilyn Monroe was discovered working as an assembler at Radioplane. A photographer assigned by Denny’s friend, Army publicist (and future US President) Captain Ronald Reagan, took several shots and persuaded her to work as a model, which was the beginning of her career.

Maybe built a model of some kind for Errol

The Zaca. Reginald Denny always had a debonair way about him. I think he would have been a natural for a detective series back in the day. I believe he had similar acting traits in the David Niven and William Powell vein.

Ahoy Bobeye the Sailorman and Bluefin Tim! I suspect the ship model Errol is holding to be the Mimosan, a yacht closely associated with Freddie McEvoy.
