Brenda! I thought you already were an author with all the posts you've made so far. Looking forward to your input. I like this picture as well of EF–he laughs so hard his nose crinkles. I too have a little ranch. Do you have horses?
I haven't gotten a horse here yet because I've been too busy to ride! But I used to ride for a living on cattle ranches, also rode horses for people….and I do plan on getting one, perhaps next year. I have goats, chickens, cats and lots of dogs!
Brenda, what a wonderful daughter you are to care for your mom. Sorry for your loss. I have sheep, one llama, three horses, 15 cats (barn cats that I've rescued from parking lots and strays that show up) and five dogs: two border collies, one huntaway, one New Zealand Collie (getting close to EF territory) and a Great Pyrenees. All you and I need is a “monkey”! Did you go on cattle drives?
Yes, I went on cattle drives and rode a lot – when I was a lot younger! I worked on really large ranches, they ran 1,000's of head of cattle. So yes there is another appeal to Flynn for me, as he was a great horseman, rode a horse really well.
Aha, another Great Pyrenees lover…I have three and two that are part GP…I also have Spanish Mastiffs, I have a new female puppy coming from the Czech Republic who's name will be ZACA….grin….
I'm getting too old to ride; afraid I will fall off and break something! My GP has some Anatolian in him. I like this name you have picked out ZACA–could be male or female. Why go all the way to the Czech Republic–how did you find a puppy there? I understand there are rescue shelters for GP's which I may look into. I'm afraid we didn't keep our guy with the sheep in the beginning and he's more a people dog than animal. He sure can tell when something strange is happening or is approaching yet he is the kindest and gentlest giant. We can't keep him penned so he roams free but doesn't go past our fenced perimeter. I like the fact that EF was an animal lover!
