Errol’s “Octagonal Philosophy of Life”. Part One, Where Errol Sows His Oats.
“Verrrry Interesting”*:
* This famous Laugh-In skit was inspired by Errol and Pre-Pres Reagan’s desperate journey across Nazi Germany (or was it Calabasas) in 1942. Arte apparently found it too hard to believe, but still very (comically) interesting. It became what he is most known for.

How can we know this about Arte Johnson and Desperate Journey?
Arte himself reported this, twinarchers.

I had NO idea this phrase came from Arte Johnson, and of course then no clue where it came from. Errol Flynn sure was influential in some unexpected ways! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you, Paula. Arte once worked for Jack Benny as a boom operator, so he only had one degree of separation from The Great Flynn. As Jack indirectly confirms at the end of this ugly baby video, Arte had talent.
Here’s Jack and his USO troupe, featuring, most prominently, in pinstripes and a big smile, another person he hired with talent, in this case an immortal talent.
