It looks like Robin Hood Flour incorporated Errol’s image to me. They’ve been around since 1909, so maybe they really do deserve the credit. I would have expected Fairbanks but there was a 1912 silent film about Robin and his image was and is instantly recognizable. I’m somewhat surprised no actor has tried a newer version of the hat. The Robin Hood inspired character Green Arrow evolved the hat to look more like a baseball cap, which many stars are happy to wear. [img]http://www.classicscentral.com/pic3/flour.jpg[/img]
