There will be more, of course. But when will there be one of significance? I loved “Robin and Marian” and the PBS mini-series “The Legend of Robin Hood”.(with a very Flynn-resembling Martin Potter) Both were from the 1970’s. I think what I liked so much about those versions was that they took the legend seriously and didn’t feel a need to update the concept. Thank you for reminding us of Audrey Hepburn in her “comeback” performance as Marion, zacal!

Apart from Errol’s brilliant Robin Hood the only other version I’ve seen is the British Robin Hood series with Jonas Armstrong as Robin.I loved it!

Yet another “Hood” in the hood: The latest being “Origins”, from Leonardo DeCaprio’s Appian Way.

Hope Leo doesn’t turn it into the “edgier” “Wolf of Sherwood Forest”.

Gosh I hate it when they mess around with newer versions of whatever..Kind of like the 100 versions of Anne of Green Gables.. Anyway I found this little article today –
What if … the Marvel Universe had been cast during Golden Age Hollywood?”
The Avengers
Cap-Burt Lancaster
Captain America – the superhuman graceful agility, all-American broad-shouldered looks and calm-voiced leadership of Burt Lancaster.
Iron-man-and-Pepper
Iron Man – the insouciant charm and bravado of Errol Flynn (and for maximum electricity we’ll have the wonderful Olivia de Havilland as Pepper Potts) – can’t you imagine Flynn and Lancaster arguing?
