A great movie. This John Brown scared the …. out of me. His eyes were so scary, and the way he spoke. I wonder how scary he would have been in a coloured version

I’ve always felt much the same about the portrayal John Brown portrayed in Santa Fe Trail, Debby. So frightening a fanatic. Raymond Massey was masterful playing him. Likewise, he was great as Lincoln, who Brown essentially caused to be elected.
Regarding whether a colored version of John Brown would be as maniacal and disturbing, I suspect not. I’m pretty certain a colored version would be much more complimentary.
