A Not So Grand Day

October 16, 1942

Errol leaves the Los Angeles Grand Jury Room after testifying concerning allegations of committing statutory rape against two California teenagers, Peggy LaRue Satterlee and Betty Hansen. The Grand Jury voted not to indict because there was not enough evidence to bring a case to trial. Nevertheless, in a rare and rather astonishing move, the LA District Attorney decided to prosecute.
