Could be a banded mongoose, native to central and eastern Africa:

My guess is that this picture might have been taken during the filming of Roots of Heaven – but who knows what other occasions Errol had for enjoying someone nibbling at his ear.

I remembered seeing a tv documentation about mongeese (LOL) a couple of years ago and just googled some pictures to be sure. ;-)
