Interesting update, thank you for posting. I wonder who the lady is meant to portray, an actual person or a composite of several.

Flynntastic question, Paula. I need to reread Beams End, but I don’t recall this exact character in Townsville with Errol. I wouldn’t be surprised, however, if Errol did have a woman (or two) with him during that phase of his journey on Sirocco. Personally, I’d be more surprised if he did not. Maybe there’s some local Townsville history or folklore that will shed light on this.

Being that Errol’s original narrative included some fictional content, and that it appears this new movie In Like Flynn adds some more, I suspect Errol’s girl in this film may be either completely fabricated, or part fiction/part composiite.

Errol (and Luke) are in very good company if they did use composite characters to tell their story.

I didn’t know I had been censored, twinarchers! I only wish I knew what it is I said! (Something about Herod possibly?) Then I could devote the remainder of Lent atoning for my apparentlt wicked ways!

With respect to Errol’s allegedly nymphomanical, Sydneynite socialite, sugar mommy, “Madge Parkes”, I think she may have been a few too many years advanced for the role, plus possibly not one to have been running around Townsville in the way depicted.

Great you are keeping us current with these In Like Flynn posts and photos! Thank you.

Oh, it was just the bit in the comment guidelines about not posting politics or religeon unless it is Errol’s or his lack thereof …

Here’s another famous composite character (with some not-so-famous composite dead people.)

The comments in the Daily Mail gave me a good laugh this morning! One comment alluded to the fact that Errol was a “overindulged bull crap peddler”. That cannot be denied as it was part of the complex character he was, LOL! Looking forward to this work done by Luke as the creator of his grandfather’s continuing story…..
