Fascinating, Tom! How lucky you are to have those two books. Do you know anything about the origin of the Showdown edition?
I enjoyed reading McNulty's blog entry, and I share many of sentiments about books.
Also the part about the “Serenade” book signed by Errol (and with his pencil markings in it) was interesting. :-)
David, thanks for the blog plug. Aresia, to answer your question regarding the signed copy of Showdown there is little I’m willing to tell. The book was a Christmas gift from a friend some time ago and I am truly fortunate to own the book. Because it was such a special gift I have chosen to keep the details to myself, including Flynn’s inscription and the name of the person he inscribed the book to. Neither book will ever be sold, even after I’m gone. Some mysteries should remain mysteries.
I’m grateful if people enjoy my blog even if only moderately. It is intended as a creative forum, primarily to promote literacy. Have a great day!
I almost thought so… understandable, but what a pity!!!
Hi Tom;
I missed this post and I would like to add my two cents today, you have a very interesting blog and I wish you lots of continued success with it.
I have your “Errol Book” and needless to say I love it, sort of like a little bible to me.
Congratulations to the most intriguing book you possess and what a great pity for not giving us any details, but as you say some things have to remain a mystery.
Take care and we miss you and your comments on the blog!
