Does anyone know why he looks so gaunt in this picture. Apparently, it is during the filming of The Big Boodle. His face is very sunken. I saw the movie and enjoyed it very much. Joanna

During the period 1954-56 Errol did put on a bit of weight, which was noticeable in the Dark Avenger, Kings Rhapsody, and in his television debut the Sword of Villon. He had definitely slimmed down by the time he made The Big Boodle in mid-1956. It is evident in the brief scene early in the film when he is topless while getting his wounds treated
