Being that it’s World Cup time, here’s the story of Kevin Keegan and his Newcastle United Football Club – the team that said to have “more swagger than Errol Flynn”.

Superstryker Tim, you just made my day with this liverpoodlian post. Seeing Kevin Keegan play when I was a young lad is a very fond memory of mine. The mighty mouse in his hayday was a force of nature very much like Errol. There however is another football player refering hisself to Flynn with another funny quote: ‘Whenever I felt a bit off colour, I’d go and sit next to John Robertson – then I looked like Errol Flynn’- Brian Clough
I think I know what you’re saying, soccerheinz. Like one might have scoused down on the Mersey, Mighty Mouse was the toppermost of the soccermost, always giving his legion of fans a lot of kicks, including with his winning hit song, Head Over Heels in Love:

Clough wowed ’em with at least a couple of outstanding notable quotes involving Sherwood Errol, sirnottingheinz.
Firstly, he suggested that his sitting next to his spectacularly-talented teammate, John Robertson, made him look like Errol Flynn:
“John Robertson was a very unattractive young man. If one day I was feeling a bit off colour, I would sit next to him. I was bloody Errol Flynn compared to him. But give him a yard of grass and he was an artist. The Picasso of our game.”
Then, he alleged legendary “Big Mal” Malcolm Allison, of being:
“the Errol Flynn of football … too handsome for his own good”.
Guess which one this is, Robertson or Allison?
