“When the Italians lowered the boom, Bruce, instead of suing them, thought he could get some money out of me. Maybe he didn’t know how broke I was; or didn’t care. Attaching my cars was the coup de grace. I couldn’t raise any money on them, and had not one other asset.

Cabot went up and down the Via Venito boasting about what he had done”

I will never, ever understand Cabot’s turning on Flynn like this. I guess I wanted to think he was better than that – unfortunately, he wasn’t. I wonder what drove him to be so vengeful and spiteful…every time I see him in a film now, what he did to Errol colors my perception.

A sociopath is someone with no conscience or shame, who can change convictions in mid-sentance without skipping a beat. They aren’t ashamed of publicly sucking up to the most contemptible creep if it’s to their advantage, or of knocking an old lady out of the way to cut in front of her in line at the supermarket.

A sadist is someone who takes joy in watching the little old lady cry because he’s just knocked her out of the way.

Cabot was both.

Not condoning anything, Brutus Cabot was in tight spot himself, being sued for alimony at the time. His wife got herself help from All you can get- me Giesler. Besides, it was already his second marriage: immortalephemera.com…

And what explains “Cabot went up and down the Via Venito boasting about what he had done”??? Oh yes, it’s because he was a prick.
