The Flynn Connection?

21 Nov

Does anything in or about this photo fit or figure in Errol’s life? If so, how so?

Probably something to do with life in general as Errol really knew how to live it his way like two days in one by the looks of it!

To me Errol will always stand out as quintessential. He did what he felt like, he defied the normal! No one can copy him and should not either as he was simply unique! There is only one Errol Flynn in history and there will never be another! We do not need replicas! We honor this grand fellow. Angel to some people or not to others, he did what he did. 100% admiration for him sine 1985. Thanks to the magnificent blog and the BOSS (DDW) who created it we are able to voice our opinion and let it be positive.

Talking about cig holder I have a tortoise shell early vintage holder apart from other personally owned items, I would say that is dedication, right? I search and find …and want!

Is this the connection?

Actor Johnny Depp w. girlfriend model Kate Moss wearing silk slip Calvin Klein dress covered by vintage beaded flapper’s chemise once owned by Mrs. Errol Flynn.

OK help me out now – do you refer to the black or white beaded see through number? I’m slow, dense, confused LOL! I think you referred to white one but not sure! What a find, either way, is right! I am re-reading MWWW’s right now – its downright glum and depressing in parts – the poor EF was so tortured at times….just to the part about his on again off again with LD – and the suicide contemplations. Sigh…poor man. He suffered so much.

I know it is so sad to read. I think there is something to be said about living your “real ” life. Drinking does not help as it can cause serious depression in people – you end up on a merry go round. How many young stars of today have killed themselves…so sad. I always felt (and this is my own opinion) that Errol just went into denial mode -which makes me feel that he could not trust anyone enough to confide in.

I must be a dinosaur with head in sand as I have NO idea who these two underfed tykes are. Nor do I even care; to me, there is NO comparing this cover to Flynn’s cover!

LOL! I’m sorry if I sound so crass or flippant…I didn’t mean to, its just that t live in the Ice Age – I don’t keep up with the new Hollywood set – dyed in the wool fan of the 30’s, 40’s genre of stars. Thanks for enlightening me! (I still think they are awfully thin but then she IS a model….sigh….or was…)

Don’t feel so bad Zaca! Some of the styles today are a bit scary- I tried to find a photo with Lili wearing the dress but no luck. Some time ago I found a photo of Errol wearing a Brocade- design tuxedo jacket and wouldn’t you know that Matthew McConaughey has something similar-Matthew is know for his excellent style sense -I bet he did not know that Errol wore it first!
