The Aviator was to me a very strange film. Leonardo may have made a very good Howard Hughes, However as much as I like Jude Law the scene above may never happened the way it is portrayed. In fact it’s slightly embarrassing to me.
In these kind of social scenarios, Errol was always the gentleman and may have had a bit of fisticuffs in a different place and time.

This is not a very good movie! I am not so sure that even Leonardo gives a good portrayal of Howard Hughes, but Jude Law’s scene as Errol was no likeness of Errol at all. Jude should have never taken on the role as it is totally out of context with an Errol image and he should have known that. He sure missed out on his Errol research, that is if he ever did one before playing the part.
It is very well known that Errol even when intoxicated always knew his manners. It is also stated quite often that Errol could hold his liquor very well and often people never could tell was he or wasn’t he under the spell.

Right on Tina! I understand Errol very well.My Dad was always the same in a social setting. He was always in control of his drinking. It was amazing to watch my dad act so convincing while having at least 4 or 5 drinks in him. As Errol has been in some brouhaha or other i’m sure it was a good cause. My dad would come home a little bloody after dueling for some underdog.
