Their friendship took a quantum leap when Mickey’s Stablemates co-star , Wallace Beery, took the teenager up to a never-to-be-forgotten party at Errol’s place. Legend is Mickey’s eyes nearly popped out of his head when the front door opened.…

The Butler Did It … or Did He?

Mickey was also at Errol’s infamous birthday party brawl up at Mulholland, in June of ’42, the night of the big fight involving EF’s friend and stand-in, Jim Fleming, and Barbara Woolworth Hutton’s butler. It was wonderful to see Mickey posting on FB and enjoying himself with his son and his wife with whom he was living during the last year or so. Few actors were as versatile Mickey Rooney. He should have received many more awards in his career but I think every day was rewarding when he was with loving family, friends, and fans. What a reunion party he is attending now on the other side!

A great talent and the last of the Hollywood greats from the golden era. May he rest in peace and be re-united with his friends and colleagues on the other side.

I always liked Mickey and he sure was a good friend to Errol and proved it in the documentaries he was on. Besides he got to Ava before Frank and that is saying something.

Mickey was a brilliant actor who was very under rated in the last decades of his life. He was also a good and loyal friend to Errol, and loyalty always commands respect from me.
