Ah, one of the greats. I still have the hardcover “Films of Errol Flynn” that I bought in college in the early ’70s, and his books in Citadel’s “Films of …” series were among the best in the series.

Three other Thomas books of possible interest to Flynn fans:

The Great Adventure Films is a wonderful book on the adventure genre; Flynn’s Robin Hood and Sea Hawk are included.

Cads and Cavaliers: The Gentlemen Adventurers of the Movies contains extensive chapters on Fairbanks father and son, Basil Rathbone, David Niven, Ronald Colman, John Barrymore, George Sanders, Vincent Price, and of course Flynn. The last section covers additional film adventurers.

Music for the Movies (there is a second, updated edition from 1997) covers over two dozen film composers, including Korngold and Steiner.

All reflect Tony’s love and knowledge of the movies. Good reads.
