Ah, one of the greats. I still have the hardbound version of “The Films of Errol Flynn” that I bought in college in the early ’70s. His books in Citadel’s “Films of …” series were among the best in the series.
Additional books by Tony of possible interest to Flynn fans:
The Great Adventure Films – a wonderful book on the adventure genre; Flynn’s Robin Hood and Sea Hawk are included.
Cads and Cavaliers: The Gentlemen Adventurers of the Movies contains extensive chapters on Fairbanks father and son, David Niven, Basil Rathbone, John Barrymore, Ronald Colman, Vincent Price, George Sanders, and of course Flynn. The last section includes info on other actors.
Music for the Movies (a second, updated version published in 1997) covers over two dozen film composers and includes chapters on Korngold and Steiner.
All of these books reflect Tony’s love and knowledge of the movies. Good reads.
