I was so happy to see that Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga won a grammy award last night with their beautiful duet album. One of the songs on the CD is “But Beautiful” written (as the story goes) by Jimmy Van Heusen as an expression of his affection for Nora Eddington. Sigh.

I believe this song was played at Nora’s farewell in 2001, following Sean’s eulogy.
Nora certainly was beautiful, no buts about it. Here she is with her true love. In the background is Jimmy Van Heusen’s biggest benefactor, for whom he wrote some immortally great tunes.

You can see how much Nora loved Errol. From a woman’s point of view just the way she is looking at him says it all. They were married the longest and they stayed friends. And Errol loved Nora’s mum also.
