    It is about the Hotel Bonsol in Mallorca and all the celebrities that came there, including Errol, who taught Martin Xamena how to fence. We have several articles like it on the blog, I think, including the fencing story.

    I know I’ve seen storiez about Errol swordplaying with some boys at the Bon Sol (incuding young Martin Zamena), but I hoped, with the above posted article being only 2 days old, that it might contain some new facts or insight. Is there any, or is this just a complete rehash?!

      Dear Timtim,

      it contains also the story about Ava Gardner, who tried to reach Errol and make him come down from his Hotel room. But he had given the strikt directive to not be disturbed by anyone, so they didn`t reunite that night.

        Great info & photo. How come my gardner doesn’t look like that?

        By any chance, did they give a date or occasion for that night they missed each other? Did they ever meet again?

          Dear G.T.,

          sorry no exact date available, but late in his career. Maureen O` Hara was another accomplice expressing regret for missing Errol in Cuba (before he passed away) when she and Alec Guiness were filming “Our man in Havana”. Contrary to lcommon belief she was fierce towards but fond of our Hollywood hero. See my piece on the blog here: “The red swashbucklerette”

      I think – per Shangaroo’s astute observation a brief while back – this is Errol taking a selfie, errolsfan. Perhaps the first in history, or at least at the Bon Sol.
