I felt a little uncomfortable at first when the comments began, but in the end, you’re all right: an eye for an eye. He was talking bad about Errol after he was dead, so why should we not talk bad about him? The only difference is that you are telling the truth, while he was lying.
Isn’t it unfair that such a… was allowed to become so old?
Thank you for your comments. Charles Higham’s obit was not something I took lightly, but I have been prepared for a long time to post it. I am aware that my comments may seem harsh, but I also feel that glorifying a scoundrel is unacceptable. What I posted was the truth and the truth needs to be told. Yes, I was harsh, but ask Errol Flynn’s surviving family how they feel about Higham’s lies. Charles Higham hurt a lot of people by spreading lies. The harsh truth is preferable to more lies.
I didn’t mean you or anyone was too harsh, Tom. It was just my first thought: nothing bad about the dead. But when I thought about it, I came to the conclusion that he deserves it.
Yes, I understand. But I wanted to clarify my reasoning because I did receive a few emails stating they felt my post was inappropriate. I respect everyone’s opinion, but my mind was made up on this long before Higham died. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.
Tom, to the devil with the PC crowd. This contemptible parasite caused a lot of heartache to Nora, Deirdre which I witnessed and to Rory that still hurts her today. To have one’s father called the vile lies that this piece of human tripe called Errol Flynn is beyond despicable. Deirdre once told me “that if her brother Sean was alive then, he would have killed him”
Well it’s about time somebody told it like it is. I’ve never seen the truth look so well. The man was a parasite and hurt a lot of people. If there is an after life I bet they are queing up to take a shot at him. well done.
