After a valiant fight against his illness, David DeWitt’s brother, Bob, passed away in his sleep yesterday morning at 10:45 am while his family watched over him. At his request, he will be laid to rest alongside their father in the family plot at Clear Lake, WA.
I’m sure all of us here at the blog share in the pain of David’s and his family’s loss, and hope that they soon find some comfort and solace. If the quality of character of David himself is any indication, his brother Bob must have been a wonderful fellow.
Our sincerest sympathies, David, to you and yours.

My heartfelt thanks to all of you… at a future time I will post a picture of Bob in his younger days taken on a day we went on a trip together to Seattle to spend the day in the sunshine. It is a particular favorite of mine and we had such a wonderful time together that day. Right now, I am much at sea…
Hugs and love to all of you…

Dear David,
I lost my dear brother 14 months ago to cancer and I don't think that I will get over it. People might tell you to “move on, get over it” but it's not that simple. Grief is a journey, and we all must grieve in our own way. I love looking at his old pictures when he was healthy, handsome and full of life. I look foreward to seeing your brother's photos. It helps to share. May he stay in your heart forever.

Robert thank you for letting us know about David's dear brother. He's gone from sight but not from the hearts of those that knew and loved him. David, my best to you and your family as you go down the path of grief. You are all in my thoughts. Kathleen

Maria, I am so sorry you are going through this, too. I am sure I will never be the same again. Right now it's too hard to look at his old photos. It has only been three mornings since I was with him when he passed away. We have not had the furneral yet. The years stretch out in front of me and I know I cannot be with him except in my heart and in memories. Greiving began even before he passed away because we had to watch it happening during hospice care. I am not sure how I will survive this, or if I will survive it. Thanks so much to this family of Flynn friends. I never dreamed we would all be this close when I started this blog. Bob enjoyed seeing the blog from time to time. He was not an online person but was heading in that direction when he became ill again. He had a wonderful new computer and was putting together his thousands of photos to publish a hiking guide and that will one day be finished for him, I don't know when at this point…
Take care, Maria…

Jack Marino, our friend, and his wife Louise held a history making party for Errol Flynn at their home on the occasion of Flynn's 100th birthday and made it possible for many of us to get together in person. His wonderful wife Louise opened her home and heart to all of us. Robert has just notified many of us that Louise has suffered a serious heart attack and is in a coma at Northride Hospital and is undergoing a series of tests. jack asks that we all pray for her recovery. Jack has been a Flynn supporter for many years and is usually connected somehow to books, and documentaries about Errol and is tireless in his work to bring Flynn's life and career to its rightful place in film history and the memories of the public. Louise is his rock and his lady, and I ask that we all keep them both in our thoughts and prayers.
