Hi Kathleen:
Sherlook, this is a great find! I think is is out of the movie "Don't Bet On Blondes" 1935 - before Captain Blood! Please correct me if I am wrong? Re: Re: This sort of took my breath away . . . .
This was for a photo shoot in early '35, but remember he had no moustache in "Don't Bet On Blondes", yet did in his next film, "Case Of The Curious Bride", but not in "Captain Blood", but then again in "Charge Of The Light Brigade"............................

Can't get over all the pictures there are of him. Would this be after TL (Tiger Lil)?

Errol was married to Damita from 1935 to 1942. (Officially anyhow.) Interestingly, Damiata was previously married to Michael Curtiz for a brief period.

Hi Patti and Kathleen;
If you click the Directors tab on the left there are all the details about Michael Curtis and when he was married to Lili Damita. Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: This sort of took my breath away . . . .

Tina, I did just that--clicked. I didn't realize you had posted about the directors along with their pictures. Lots of information, thanks.

Isn't that an urban myth?

Yep as always Robert is right on! The moustache came and went to some extent--sort of like that wedding band! The moustache is gone in "Prince and the Pauper." It is back in "Perfect Specimen" where the band comes and goes. Just to name of few.

Hi Patti;
I had to laugh at your quote of the mustaches and the wedding bands, but please let's not forget that Errol never divorced his wives - they divorced him. Even with Lil (and imagine that) he wanted to make a go of the marriage somehow when Sean was born. Yeah that's Errol! |
