It would be nice to have a publishing date!

I got a nice email from Steve Hayes today, wishing me a Happy Thanksgiving and bringing me up to date with things in LA. Steve and his sometime English collaborator writer David Whitehead are busy with new books and David updated Steve's website at SteveHayes.org recently. Steve and his lovely wife Robbin were literally headed out the door to spend some time in Palm Springs. Steve is writing westerns and two new mysteries, he says – working out on the treadmill and enjoying life!
When I grow up, I want to be just like Steve Hayes!

My good friend Author & Mixed Media Artist Cindy Adkins has produced a Suede Cigar Box dedicated to Errol Flynn. She made this as a surprise to show me more of her talents – which are many! I was interviewed for one of her newest Amazon Kindle books called Blogging: It's a Man Thing, a companion to her book Blogging: It's a “Woman Thing” - see more images of this great looking piece on her Whimsical Musings Magazine site…
Just scroll down the page when you get there!
Thanks, Cindy!

There is a new movie out called Green Lantern and based on the comic books of the same name. The address for a write up is at http://middletown-ct.patch.com/articles/green-lantern-39c0438c There is a quote therein that refers to our good mate Errol as well as his room mate David Niven. This is the said quote “Hollywood Homage: According to Sinestro actor Mark Strong, the character of Hal Jordan was based on Robin Hood actor Errol Flynn while the film’s antagonist was based on legendary screen presence David Niven, Strong told coming soon.net: “That widow’s peak and thin mustache was for some reason originally based on David Niven, and Hal Jordan was based on Errol Flynn. In the ‘30s and ‘40s, they shared an apartment together in Hollywood when they were making movies and they were great friends. Obviously at the time, whoever was doing the original comics must have looked at them as guys doing very well in the film industry, and based those characters on them. So I would like to do justice to the Sinestro that was conceived for the comic books”.

Now that I have a little time I would like to place an information on the blog which I have for quite some time. I asked David to make an Errol' Paintings tab for me to put all the information I have gathered. Thank you David for obliging me.
It is quite well known that Errol Flynn owned several priceless oil paintings of which two are always shown in one way or another or mentioned in articles or books. Not to much is known about the any other paintings and how many were there really?
Has anybody facts and figures? In addition, does anybody know who owns what painting today?
Let's start with one, which is so well known and Errol love it:

Paul Gauguin “Famille Tahitienne”

or “Bathers”, a title which is not well known for the painting.
Painted in 1902, oil on canvas, size 39 1/4 x 28 3/4 (92 cm x 73cm)
This painting was purchase in 1997 by Steve Wynn of Wynn Resorts Ltd. in Las Vegas. I wonder who owned it between 1959 and 1997? If anybody is going to Las Vegas may have a visit with the painting!
This is the link I found:

One very funny thing about the link above is – that it is written by Andrew Decker who writes for artnet.com and gave me the information of the sale. The family name is the same – what coincident – but there is no relation to John Decker – I inquired.
There is a website of Wynn Resorts and the picture is in the inventory. If you want a long corporate reading here it is – have fun.
That's all for today have fun!
