In this first entry I
want to let you know, why I have been given author right’s and what
I’m up to.

In December & January
I’ll be on vacation in Australia & Tasmania. Well, every trip
needs an itinery, I guess, so I had the idea to travel along the
australian eastcoast and visit coastal towns and places Errol &
his mates visited during their sailing adventure with the Sirocco in
1930.

I’ll travel north to
south landside from Cairns to Sydney and further to Hobart/Tasmania.
Based on some of Errol’s descriptions I want to see what might be
still there after so many years and/or what the locations look like
today. Whenever possible I plan to illustrate my „findings“ with
some photos.

Being a constant „reader“
on the blog for quite a while now, some days ago I approached David
with this travel-diary idea and he granted me author right’s, so I’ll
be able to share my travel impressions and experiences with you
fellow Flynn fans.

My trip does not start
before Middecember, but this should leave enough time for technical
preparations (roadside internet access with my netbook) and more
thorough studying of „Beam Ends“ and other sources of information
regarding Errol’s whereabouts in Sydney and Hobart.

Until the trip starts I
hope to get your feedback on this whole idea, your comments and
recommendations. Please excuse some grammatical mistakes you’ll
surely notice, but English is not my mother tongue. I’ll do my very
best, however
