Errol At His Best

In keeping with the ongoing trivial topics, how 'bout this one to get the fatuous juices flowing: In what three films, in your opinion, did Flynn look his best? My choices are “The Charge Of The Light Brigade”, “Dodge City”, and “Virginia City”. Yours? Ok, so then don't offer yours. Somebody else undoubtedly will.

    The Sea Hawk, The Adventures of Robin Hood, and Lincoln Hurst pointed out that EF in Dive Bomber was exactly how he looked at that point in his life. I agree with your choices as well.

    Looked his best, physically, well, hard to pick but here goes:
    Santa Fe Trail, Dodge City and Captain Blood for me…..grin….

    Actually, though “Robin Hood” is my favorite film, I never thought he looked all that good in it. Too many scenes where he appears pudgy of face, and that opening “nostril” shot–not a good angle for him.

    For me, it would be “Elizabeth and Essex”, “Dive Bomber” and “Edge of Darkness”. I don't really like his wigs in the early costume movies up to “Sea Hawk”…

    The Charge of the Light Brigade, Dodge City and Gentleman Jim (I like the elegant high collars I guess). I do think he looked great in the other movies mentioned.

    I really like how trim he is in Don Juan and his own hair versus bad wigs. I like to watch him when he most athletic and fit so Captain Blood, Sea Hawk and Santa Fe Trail.

    Charge – Dawn Patrol – Gentleman Jim. This latter the best of the three. Flynn's native cockiness and perfect features were shown to superb advantage with that combed-back pompadour.
